The phrase AI trading course scam is rising because the pitch has changed. In 2020, the guru promised forex freedom. In 2026, the same funnel says an AI bot will trade while you sleep. The costume changed. The verification problem did not.
Use official consumer sources first: the FTC business opportunity guidance, FTC refund and complaint portal, and state regulator alerts. Named enforcement cases around trading education and MLM-style recruitment are useful because they show the pattern: income claims, urgency, screenshots, vague disclaimers and upsells.

Before paying, save the checkout page, terms, earnings claims, webinar replay, refund policy and seller identity. Use a credit card, not crypto or wire transfer. If the offer relies on private DMs and disappearing stories, assume the evidence will vanish when you need it.
The best anti-guru habit is boring: verify revenue, verify product, verify legal entity, verify refund terms. If any one of those is hidden, keep your money.
